Creating a nature scene collage

Combine some images, and finally you will create a fantastic effect for a natural scene.

Start by opening an image of a lake surrounded by mountains.

Insert another image of clouds with sun.

Create selection of the sky area in first image using polygon lasso tool.

Select clouds layer. Click add layer mask button from the bottom of the layer palette. It will mask the clouds layer and it will appear as the sun is rising behind the mountains.

Duplicate the clouds layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click and select Flip Vertical and place as shown below. Select eraser tool with the soft brush settings and remove the outside area of lake.

Change the layer mode to “Overlay”.

Insert a cutout of a tree. Place as shown.

Insert another cutout of a boat. Place it over the lake.

Create a new layer. Select brush tool with soft brush settings. Apply it to create shadow of the boat. Move this layer below the boat layer in layer order in layer palette.

Change the layer mode to “Overlay”.

Duplicate the boat layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click and select Flip Vertical. Play around with layer mode to create a smooth reflection.

Select and merge all the layers. Duplicate the layer. From “Filter” menu select “Blur>>Gaussian Blur “. Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to “Linear Dodge”.
