Have you ever woke up in the morning and enjoy the sunrise with the beautiful lighting effects ? I have just enjoyed that wonderful scene in this morning, and immediately, I think about an interesting effect but easy to process, which I will explain in this photoshop tutorials.

Step 1 : Prepare a photo

ScreenHunter_001

Duplicated the photo, put the duplicated one on top.And Gaussian Blur it :

Then change its Blending Mode to Linear Dodge. After that duplicated 3 more from the original, and radial blur all of them (remember the put the blur center more to the right (this area) to fit with the scene later)

After that, you desaturates one them into black and white, and with one use Color Balance to head its color towards red (don’t do too much or it might go bad),the final one use Color Balance also to head its color toward yellow.

Put the Black and white one on top of the Yellow one,and the yellow one on top of the Red one,all three of them on top of the rest layers.

Change the Black and White blending to Overlay, the Yellow one to Screen Opacity 70%,the red one to Vivid Light Opacity 60%

Step 2 : Now as you see it is too bright, what to do?

ScreenHunter_008

Use Curves (better use the icon ScreenHunter_010 so that later you can adjust it without a problem).Change this layer blending to Linear Burn and its opacity to 35%.Put it on top of the rest.

ScreenHunter_005

Create another layer on top, fill it with black then change its blending to Linear Dodge and its opacity to 50%.Go to Filters>Render>Len Flares, use 105mm Primme around 80%-120%,try to put the lens flare at the same place with the Blur Center above(check step 1)

Finally add another layer of Hue/Saturation on top of all and adjust it like this

ScreenHunter_006

You have something like this from an ordinary photo.

Layers order:
